Great app usually. Not sure when or why it changed. But the last month on my samsung phone if I'm on a video, and I go browse to search something, or open a text to respond. It automatically disconnects my meet video. When before you could do multiple things and return to the chat. It's frustrating. Can't be at the grocery store and need to look quick at notes while video chatting with someone.

Google Meet used to be great when I could just make video calls, similar to FaceTime. Now, all I see is the message "you're calling someone who can't receive calls" for every single contact. It worked just fine a few weeks ago. It's also inconvenient to send links to join a call. Why make extra steps when it worked perfectly before? This change is making the switch to an iPhone that much more tempting.

This app is awesome! It works with your email address. I have been having issues with my phone not dialing out. I still had service. I'm still not very sure what the problem was, but I was still able to call through this app with excellent call quality. And, while I have wifi calling now. I recently had a phone that was not wifi call capable. With this app, you would still be able to receive calls. Just inform people to call you with the little camcorder icon. They still go to same contact.

I have used this app a few times now. I find it simple to use and pretty straightforward. Picture was pretty clear as well as the audio. The only con that I've experienced so far is the lag. Despite having full bars of service, the lag is still there. Both with audio and the picture. It can cause both parties to be talking on top of each other as well as the picture jumping around can cause a bit of dizziness for me. It still definitely lets my kids and I to see each other when their gone.

Absolutly Great app! Lately, I'm having issues during video call whereas I can only see me in the smaller circle view, I've continuously played with my phone, trying to be able to see me in the larger circle during video call, still haven't worked, new phone, I'm assuming app needs to make it easy for us to udate. we should be able to update the app. to improve situations such as, overall, 👍 I recommend this app.

As someone who recently switched from iPhone, Google Meet has been pretty good. However, there are some features I wish were available, especially when compared to Apple's FaceTime. 1. Zoom: Sometimes I want to zoom in on something, but I haven't figured out if this is available or not. 2. Screenshots: FaceTime has a shutter button on-screen that makes it easy to take a quick picture of the FaceTime video call.

Doesn't have an option to change the calling email. Even if you try changing the phone number on the email you, it keeps using your old phone number. For users who want to solve this issue, they need to remove or log out for the email they don't want to use anymore, then disable/enable the app. Now, they are able to change their calling account because it seems that the Meet team didn't test the app thoroughly.

I am experiencing a persistent purple glitchy background within the application. Despite multiple attempts at uninstalling and reinstalling the application, as well as clearing the cache and storage data, the issue persists. I have also restarted my phone afterward and sent feedback to Google Meet numerous of times, but I haven't received a response or resolution. This issue has been ongoing for several months. Is there any way you can factory reset my Google Meet to its original settings?

Can not be uninstalled and does NOT show up in list of apps installed on my Pixel. Too many fake people like to use this app and I don't want it on my phone. It serves zero purpose for me. Then they respond with a link that can't be clicked. That's really smart people! Come on just admit it this is ridiculous! Update: they have sent me another email that gave me a link to the old application that Meet replaced. The link had nothing to do with removing the need of an update not needed!

Today, Google pushed an update to be able to draw and let other people draw on your screen. I have been waiting for this or trying to code it myself for some time. Thanks a lot, this is so much better thab the whiteboard function. It just miss a screenshot button, but... Also, the interfaces for audio and video have been updated and are much better now. Thanks to the product team behind those changes!

The video quality is amazing. I have to use this 6-8 times a month, sometimes for large group conferences with 30+ people and I don't know how it does it, but everything comes through incredibly clear. I can see 8 people on the screen, for example, and all of their video images are crystal clear, and it's the same for my image to them. I would like to know out of curiosity what codec is being used for the video compression. HVEC or AV1? Maybe not even that for compatibility. Great app!

Emilio Gonzales

The call quality was actually very surprising. I could hear my call clearly, even background noises were distinct which was cool because it gave it the actual phone call vibe. And the video was very clear and didn't lag or buffer Only issue was being able to connect the call it took us a while to figure that out. She has Apple I have Android. So it was a pain to get the codes right and for us to connect. That was the issue for not giving 5 stars. But all in all very satisfied, can't wait to call.

Julie Wolff

It's a great app. However, it just was added to my phone unexpectedly. Now when I make calls, I can't just make a regular call and use the speaker anymore. I don't like that at all. This video chat app replaced the speaker option that I used all of the time on calls. I think they should have both options, please bring back the speaker option as well!

I used to really like this app however for the past month or so I have not been receiving any notifications unless I open the app and they come through. Also in the past week, with the most recent update I have been experiencing issues with recording video messages. If I record for the full length (1 minute) or longer than about 30 seconds the video will say "message too short" when I go to send. Ive cleared cache and app is up to date. It is frustrating when sending multiple videos back to back

Bluetooth button only shows when someone calls you. If I make an outbound call I can't use hearing aids. Update obviously they didn't read this. My bluetooth capable hearing aids and other Bluetooth devices dont show if I call someone but do show when someone calls me. Makes no sense. And Noone wants to send a link to initiate a video call. Why can't this just be seem less to anyone in your contacts who use Meet? Why do we need to invite at all? Messenger and the competition don't require it.

Natasha

It was nice but it does not ring to let you know someone is video-calling you. But the quality has improved. That is why I am giving it 4 stars. The while calling notification needs improving. It is great when you can feel close to someone who is not at home with you. I don't have too much to say here. I am only writing this extra stuff because the send button did not appear. My guess is that I will have to make it to 500 letters before the send button will appear. Lol, I will incluse this as I

Google Meet is pretty solid but has some room for improvement. It’s easy to use and integrates well with Google apps, which is great. However, there are frequent issues with lag and glitches, especially during large meetings or with poor internet. Sometimes the app crashes or freezes, which can be frustrating. The interface also feels a bit clunky and could use a smoother design. Despite these hiccups, it’s still a useful tool for video calls. 4 stars for its potential and convenience!

Angela Likavec

So far so good, it doesn't always happen that way. I must add that any good connection you make is dependent on the type of network service you have, it's capability, your location and your cell phone's ability to carry out that connection. Sometimes it's not the caller but the receiver who is having difficulty connecting. 🤔 The ole saying is if you do not succeed , try, try again😏

Anna Lovanh

Google Meet has potential, but needs improvement. While video calls are generally clear, the lack of picture-in-picture on mobile is a major drawback for multitasking. Sound quality could be better. Additionally, the app is often buggy, with frequent call drops and connection issues. Incoming call notifications could also benefit from a vibrate option when the phone is in use. Hopefully, these issues will be addressed in future updates.

Meet uses my notification sound. It is annoying. I like to Differentiate between sounds so I can know what notification is sounding when I can't look at my phone. I have updated it and still it does this. I have the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I have went into the settings of the meet app and there is no way to change the notification sound. It does this with every family member also (5 of us) so it's not just my phone doing it. I may just uninstall it.
